CYMANTIC Inspiration
Cymatic patterns are created when simple sine wave vibrations (pure tones) within the audible range interact with matter. The result is a physical representation of a vibration, or how sound manifests into form through a medium. Cymatic patterns can be observed in Tibetan singing bowls, Indian Mandalas and even present as letters in ancient Sanskrit. These geometric shapes mirror patterns found throughout nature, occurring in leopard prints, turtle shells and sunflowers. They inspire the deep recognition that we are part of a complex and intricate vibrational matrix. The one of a kind ceramic pieces found in the "Hidden Worlds" series are my attempt to capture the continuous undulating tapestry of vibrations that surround us in an invisible world made of sound. As like in nature all these ceramic pieces are one of a kind. Each piece is decorated with custom designed and handmade stencles, silkscreens, and stamps. Every piece is made with small batch hand colored clay and formed using a soft slab handbuilt technique.
